Now I've used Iodé OS ( @iode ) as my daily mobile OS for three weeks. Good so far. Based on Android Open Source Platform and Lineage OS. From France.
My intention is to write something later on my web site (hemrin.com) after some more usage. And eventually also talk about it on Hacker Public Radio ( @hpr ).
If you are looking for a #linux based #European #mobileOS that can be a daily driver for many people that has #nospyware or #algorithms built in, respects your #privacy by default and is easy to use, #Jolla #Sailfish OS is an easy recommendation as an #alternativeto #Android and #iOS.
They are cooking up a new #phone for delivery #2026 which you can now preorder: https://commerce.jolla.com/products/jolla-phone-preorder
@nomad99 @jolla I have also noticed the decline, which is okay as Christmas is coming. But #Jolla definitely should plan something you have proposed! Especially the website clarification!
Video of the device would be amazing also if they have some demo units available.
#Jolla lets push the sales! So far numbers look good, but there needs to be more push to double the sales, which would bring quite nicely new people in to the #SailfishOS. #Europe deserves its own #mobileOS.

A good promo of deGoogled android:
This video is about iodéOS, but the same idea applies to other privacy-focused Android options. I personally use GrapheneOS.
It’s not too hard to install deGoogled android on supported older devices, and it’s definitely worth the effort.
If you don’t want to install it yourself, there are also phones that come with de-Googled Android out of the box.
