The Northern Flicker has been a difficult bird for me. They're not rare by any means, but they always seem to notice when I try to photograph them, and they fly away. I was probably 45 feet away from this guy, and it was from behind a tree. I was worried the leaves would obscure, but I think it really adds to this shot!
