The Rainbow Bridge finally opened this morning.
The bridge provides a connection between Moonee Ponds Creek and North Melbourne along Dynon Rd.

Interesting angles. Two pictures of #melboune streetscapes, taken from the same spot, facing in different directions.
It’s tough not to wish I was where @susannbeier.bsky.social is! If you ever want to explore different corners of the world (trust me, I’ve lived and worked in 5 countries across 4 continents), #Australia (especially #Sydney) is hard to beat! P.S. #Melboune still has the best coffee though! β˜€οΈπŸ–οΈπŸ„πŸ»πŸˆπŸ»β˜•οΈπŸ¨πŸ¦˜

Daytime maximums are going up this week but the mornings are absolutely getting chillier. #Melboune

It wasn't just disrespect, it was racism. Let this day not just be a reflection of those who served, but a day to have a conversation about racism.

Indigenous Australians served alongside non indigenous Australians in a time of no rights, and were not looked after on their return.

Sweet fucking relief

Every few months there is an article in the ABC about some missing infrastructure in the 'growth areas'. They never seem to address that we've knowingly grown populations in areas without infrastructure instead of growing populations in areas where there is already infrastructure.

We're building houses in the middle of nowhere and only later being surprised that these houses also need schools, trains, libraries, shops, cafes , roads and jobs.

We should be growing the areas that already have infrastructure

Melbourne's fastest-growing and youngest areas have the worst access to public libraries

Data shows Melbourne's growth areas have some of the worst access to public libraries across the city, despite being home to some of the youngest populations in the city.

One year ago today, a Comeng set crosses the tram square at Glen Huntly Road on Melbourne's Frankston line.

One week ago this line reopened after almost a two month shutdown to remove this level crossing, and the nearby Neerim Road. The rail line now runs below Glen Huntly Road. The small signal box (to the left of the picture) has been abolished and dismantled.
