The clouds parted long enough last night for me to reshoot M 74 at a little longer exposure and at higher altitude. #astrophotography #seestar #m74

One of the dimmer Messier objects, the "Phantom Galaxy" M 74. M 74 is about the size of our Milky Way galaxy and about 32 million light years away. #astrophotography #seestar #M74
Guillaume nous partage une #astrophotographie de #M74
Cette #galaxie du Fantôme se trouve dans la constellation des Poissons.

Local police station carpark is packed tonight. Marked cars, vans, dog vans, couple of ambulances, and unmarked cars a plenty (easily identified by being driven by a couple of beefy chaps in high viz raincoats), stay safe everyone in central #SouthWestScotland. There is clearly a flap or a raid on, watch out driving up the #M74. Whatever is happening could be bad.
Seriously, a 30mph speed limit on the #M74 and nobody actually working on it. They could have ust removed the cones and let traffic flow freely for the weekend and redeploy the cones on monday morning. Couldn't even speed, as they had average speed cameras up.

Well it is a good job I woke up early. I flipped my diary open out of boredom, and discovered I'd forgotten I'd volunteered to do a run in the charity minibus. I was down to pick up the youth group from their outing to Loch Lomond.

Thankfully I was only half an hour late, and I blamed that on traffic and the #HighwaysAgency putting a damn 30mph speed limit on the #M74!!!

Which meant being late cause of it was only stretching the truth and not an outright downright.
