Die Sonnenblumengalaxie ist ein Spiralnebel im Sternbild Jagdhunde, unweit des Großen Bären, dessen Entfernung auf 25 bis 35 Mio. Lichtjahre geschätzt wird. Namengebend sind die vielen Verdichtungen in den Spiralarmen, bei denen es sich um Sternentstehungsgebiete handelt. Messier 63 wurde im Sommer 1779 von dem französischen Astronomen Pierre Méchain entdeckt. Rechts oberhalb von M 63 ist die ähnlich weit entfernte Galaxie UGC 8313 zu erkennen, die wir genau von der Seite sehen.

Hier soir, j'ai retenté une petite #astrophoto avec mon GX9 avec pour cible M97 / Nébuleuse de l'hibou. Je vais ptet plutôt investir dans une camera spécialisé en fait... (avec même capteur qu'un Seestar ?)

Messier 106

That galaxy has four arms — but two of them aren't made of stars.

M106 in Canes Venatici is a Seyfert galaxy with an active nucleus powerful enough to drive jets of hot gas out of its own disk. The glowing blue structures flanking the spiral are shock-heated plasma, not star-forming regions. Also in the frame: the edge-on NGC 4217, the gravitationally entangled pair NGC 4231/4232, and a handful of fainter background galaxies.
