Hubble image of Arp 219, also known as UGC 2812.
Arp 219 appears in several catalogs of ring galaxies. The ring, made of tidal tails of material that wrap around the galaxy, was likely formed through interactions with a companion galaxy.
In this image, the luminosity comes from Hubble ACS/WFC observations, and color comes from PanSTARRS.

Hubble Space Telescope image of Arp 14, also known as NGC 7314.
NGC 7314 is about 50 million light years away. It has a bright core and an active supermassive black hole at its center. The area around the black hole emits X-rays, and the X-ray light can vary dramatically on time scales as fast as hours.
