Our little Katu, home after a year in the wild.

She’s older, she's picked up some small injuries, but she’s our girl and she’s safe now. She hasn’t forgotten us at all, she’s evidently delighted to be home. I’m so glad we got her back before winter.

She slept snuggled tightly into my side, and I woke this morning to her standing on my chest, face about 10cm from mine, to tell me it was breakfast time!

One year and 4 days since disappearing without trace, Katu’s home!
I posted a reminder photo on the local FB notice board, just in case someone had taken her in. A lady recognised her as a stray her brother (17km away) was feeding, put us in touch….and I brought her home this afternoon.
She’s delighted to be home, has been velcroed to my lap all afternoon, and I’m the happiest man in West Cork tonight 😻😻😻

I know this sounds woo.. but I saw a thread in Twitter a while ago where a woman was talking about how her cat was lost, so she talked to some other cats in the neighbourhood. She told them her cats name, and talked about how much she was loved and missed.. and asked them to please pass on the message to come home.

Not only did it work and her cat came back, but a LOT of people responded saying they'd done the same thing and also had their cats come back home.

I tried it myself a few weeks ago when there was another lost cat posted on the local Facebook group.. and that cat was found too.

I'm going to try it for two more lost cats posted there tonight also.. hopefully it might help in some strange way.

So maybe, if you have a cat you could ask them to pass on to the local cats that Luna and Tinkerbell from Eglinton are lived and missed, and their families would love them to go back home.

All I want for Christmas is for this wee cat to find her way home.
Please, if you’re in the #WestCork area, look out for her. She could be coming to your door for food, or even been taken in by someone who doesn’t realise she’s missing.
8 years ago, we adopted her as a wild, frightened ex street cat. I tamed her, she captured my heart.
