I just read NIH's official scientific strategy (as of last year) and now I am really pissed off.

It talks a lot about "gold-standard science" but really means "ideological tests".

NIH will no longer fund anything that treats systemic racism or health disparities for minorities as legitimate research topics. And the only acceptable topic on transgender health is the "harms" of treatments.
