CLondoner92 (New Account)#Transport for #London (TfL) has signed a 15-year Power Purchase Agreement with #EDF Renewables #UK to supply 80 GWh of solar energy annually from a new solar farm in #Longfield, #Essex, enough to power the entire Tube for a year or 29,000 homes. Construction starts in 2026. The project will help decarbonise the National Grid, improve biodiversity by 87%, and create green jobs. As London’s largest electricity consumer, #TfL aims to power 100% of its operations with renewables by 2030, reducing emissions and boosting UK energy security. The deal offers long-term price stability and supports the Mayor’s net zero target.
