Recently I was sexually abused by a person in the local furry community... people were quick to express their sympathy, and while he's been banned from many groups, there's not enough "evidence" for him to be banned from cons and the like.... I would have to go to the cops for that.
I am ACAB all the way. We can protect ourselves without the help of cops if we come together and hold abusers accountable for their actions. Call them out on their shit, and don't let them wiggle their way out.
Intoxicated or not, what happened to me wasn't okay, and I don't think I can ever forgive or forget. But more than anything, I'm frustrated with society for failing to educate children about consent and healthy relationships.

France is in the grip of a wave of sexual abuse scandals which has highlighted systemic failures in the handling of sexual assault and child abuse complaints. Speaking with FRANCE 24's Mark Owen, Solène Podevin-Favre, President of Face à l'Inceste, says that the latest cases show that "the culture of rape and incest must change and become the culture of vigilance, of protection and we start by believing victims".

The murder of Lyhanna, 11, enrages France and turns up the heat on government.
France’s government is under mounting pressure over the murder of an 11-year-old girl whose alleged killer had several times been denounced to police as a sex offender.
Protesters are angry that the suspect had already been reported to police last August in a separate case.
Not sure if I heard it correctly (France24) given the immensity of the numbers. There are 76,000 outstanding complaints of sexual abuse awaiting investigations in France… Take a breath… 76,000 !
A public outcry alleges (likely correct) that if a child or a woman reports an abuse, they rarely get the attention the crime deserves and often the report goes no further than the front office of ‘commissariats’ (police stations).
