Today at 16:05 CEST @devrtz will showcase at #minidebconfhamburg2026 what you can expect when running #Phosh and (close-to) mainline Linux on your mobile phone. There will be a live stream at https://hamburg2026.mini.debconf.org/schedule/venue/1/
in 4 hours I lost 90% of battery fp5, mostly i wasn't using the phone, but i guess something crazy happen in background, maybe journalctl logs can show some evidences, but for now best protection is often reboot.
BTW just yesterday i pulled last pmos edge updates, maybe it has some bugs.
Kumo 1.8.1 fixes a couple bugs that probably went unnoticed by everyone but me. Baby steps.

Maybe it's time to get calls working on my Fairphone 5…
Some fantastic news! Late this afternoon Jolla made an Early Developer release available of SFOS 5..1. The build comes with plenty of low level updates and improvements...

In preparation to publish the next major Sailfish OS release, 5.1, to early access users, we have published the repositories and added them to the community OBS. This is done so that the software in Chum and other projects in OBS can be rebuilt against the new release, and any build issues fixed before the release is published to the wider early access user base. Many of the build tools and lower level libraries have received version updates of varying degrees, so incompatibilities and other is...
We are able to follow up last year's success of financing important audio improvements in postmarketOS and the wider Linux Mobile ecosystem with another project this year, this time tackling q6voice(d).
Thanks to everybody who has been donating to postmarketOS, you made this possible!

Apart from supported devices, what are the deciding factors to choose between @mobian and @postmarketOS ?
Building for Mobian is easy in docker (we use https://tangled.org/me.webbeef.org/beaver/blob/main/support/docker/Dockerfile.arm64), not sure if pmbootstrap is also usable in CI? Ideally we would create updatable images with cage (https://github.com/cage-kiosk/cage) as the wayland compositor and Beaver as the user environment.
