What does this pic have to do with Lashunta? Honestly, it gets me thinking about the gods, angels, and fey spirits that populate Lashunta cosmology, and moreso what they believe exists, as opposed to what actually exists. Could there be a team of angels assigned to escort a deceased spirt to the World-Soul? ...I don't know, could there be a hooded, cloaked figure with a scythe responsible for ending people's lives? Could there be a man wearing a winged hat and winged sandals responsible for escorting sould to the Realm of the Dead?
Another thing this makes me consider is funeral rituals. While in the past I've discussed some Lashunta burial customs, I have treated merely the mechanics of funeraly, aka: what to do with the body? Yet there are a whole other level of rituals involved in funerals, including such things as the body's display and preparation, the prayers or spells performed to safeguard against death's lingering taint, and lastly but not leastly, what is done to transition the survivors through their trauma. Also, within the context of a pre-modern, low-tech society, these rituals, without a vital records registry, form the basis of how a community legally acknowledges a person dead. There's a lot going on.

Based on some heavy foreshadowing in Chapter 31 of _A Castrovel Adventure: Part 6_, we may soon be meeting the Thriae who dwell on Castrovel. As a species, Thriae are an intriguing if unusual concept: half-female, half-bee humanoids, and more unusually monomorphs wholly dependent on other species for their reproduction.
Ignoring the biological challenges of grafting bee-like features onto a humanoid form, the Thriae concept raises some interesting questions as to why a species would evolve in this manner. As monomorphs, would it make sense for them to develop in a manner that their target-vector breeding species (lashunta? elves?) find attractive? Is their legendary, hypnotic beauty an evolutionary necessity, in effect a sexual display, rather like what an Alraune uses to lure prey in?

Deific Anthropomorphization - or Lashunta-morphization is an interesting thing. Lashunta gods are largely deist or spiritual forces in essence. Burning-Mother, Father-Night, Green-Mother, Father-Hunter, the World-Soul, and a whole pantheon of animal-totems, angels, graces, and muses.
The Lashunta have no qualms about representing their deities as looking like themselves, though occasionally with added features that would fit right in among the ancient Indians or Greeks.

Here is a good look for what could be a stronghold in Castrovel's Shattersea region. The ongoing war with the Formians has demanded constant construction of forts and watchtowers all along the coastline, focused on the southeastern region of Asana called Valmaeana - 'New Valmaea', after the lost Lashunta city that once ruled the Colonies' shores. Valmaeana, standing at the closest proximity to the Colonies, and populated by descendants of Lost Valmaea, stands at the forefront of the Western Asana Alliance against the Formians, and even dreams of reconquering the Colonies, and exterminating the Formians in the process.
