AGI - La scorsa settimana la Fondazione italiana Med-Or ha ospitato presso la propria sede una giornata di formazione incentrata sulla sicurezza informatica e sulla protezione delle infrastrutture elettorali critiche.
L'incontro ha riunito rappresentanti delle commissioni elettorali dei paesi prioritari del Piano Mattei, nonché dell'Associazione africana delle autorità di gestione elettorale (AAEA), che conta 45 membri, oltre a reti regionali dell'Africa centrale, occidentale, meridionale e orientale, garantendo così una rappresentanza completa del continente africano e delle sue commissioni elettorali.
Un quadro di riferimento per la cooperazione euro-africana
Questo evento ha riunito rappresentanti delle istituzioni elettorali africane, partner europei e stakeholder italiani. La sessione si inserisce in un programma strutturato di attività formative organizzate a Roma, con l'obiettivo di rafforzare la governance democratica, la resilienza istituzionale e la cooperazione tra Europa e Africa.
Sicurezza elettorale e nuove tecnologie
Le discussioni si sono concentrate su temi chiave quali la sicurezza dei processi elettorali, la gestione dei rischi informatici e l'impatto delle nuove tecnologie, con particolare attenzione all'intelligenza artificiale.
Un impegno duraturo per l'integrità elettorale
Questa iniziativa – realizzata nell'ambito del programma Pro-Integrità Elettorale, finanziato dal Ministero degli Affari Esteri e della Cooperazione Internazionale e attuato dal Centro Europeo di Supporto Elettorale (ECES) in partenariato con la Commissione dell'Unione Africana, l'Università LUISS e la Fondazione Imagine the Change – conferma l'impegno di Med-Or nel promuovere la condivisione delle migliori prassi e nel sostenere forme di cooperazione internazionale di fronte alle sfide globali sempre più importanti, con particolare attenzione ai paesi africani e alla cooperazione tra Europa, Italia e Africa.

AGI - Last week, the Italian Med-Or Foundation hosted a training day at its headquarters focused on cybersecurity and the protection of critical electoral infrastructure.

The meeting brought together representatives from the electoral commissions of priority countries within the Mattei Plan, as well as the African Association of Electoral Management Bodies (AAEA), which has 45 members, alongside regional networks of Africa’s central, western, southern, and eastern regions, thus ensuring complete representation of the African continent and its electoral commissions.

A Framework for Euro-African Cooperation

This event brought together African electoral officials, European partners, and Italian stakeholders. The session is part of a structured program of training activities organized in Rome, with the aim of strengthening democratic governance, institutional resilience, and cooperation between Europe and Africa.

Electoral Security and New Technologies

Discussions focused on key topics such as electoral process security, cyber risk management, and the impact of new technologies, with particular attention to artificial intelligence.

A Lasting Commitment to Electoral Integrity

This initiative – carried out within the Pro-Electoral Integrity Program, funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and implemented by the European Centre for Electoral Support (ECES) in partnership with the African Union Commission, LUISS University, and the Imagine the Change Foundation – confirms Med-Or’s commitment to promoting the sharing of best practices and supporting forms of international cooperation in the face of increasingly important global challenges, with particular attention to African countries and cooperation between Europe, Italy, and Africa.
