Didn't sleep well last night but I've still been fairly productive this morning.
I've tidied the kitchen and sorted out the bags in the front garden that had the tomatoes in them.
The postman brought my London - Floris - London tee shirt!
He also brought a thumb brace I ordered on Sunday - not so useful though now my thumb is healing but already I can feel the benefit.

That's it #LEL2025 is finished for me. This wasn't the experience I expected, but I've had a great time over the last week.
After a decent push on day 1, I was quite lucky to be held at a control that wasn't heaving with people.
Had loads of great chats with many lovely people and ended up slowly cycling back to the start with a Belgian participant.
Massive thanks to all the organisers and volunteers. Very impressive how everything was turned around so quickly after the cancellation.

Consider volunteering if you can't do the whole thing.
I volunteered at Spalding & Boston for full weeks at the previous two, and did a day at Northstowe this year.
It's very hard graft, but the people are great, and it's very rewarding (you also get a tee shirt).
I started volunteering as a way of giving something back to the Audax community but now just enjoy it for its own sake.
There's no way I could ever have ride these distances!
And no it is definitely not a race! :)
In other long distance cycling news there will probably be only be one finisher of LEL this year, Ian McBride, who outran the storm and is the only person who reached the Dalkeith control before the the decision was made to close the northern section due to bad weather. Quite a ride and he’s had solo attention at each control so it’ll be a shock to the system going South (everyone has been advised to ride from the control they’ve been held South if they want to continue).
Henri Desgrange would be delighted ;-)
