Didn't sleep well last night but I've still been fairly productive this morning.
I've tidied the kitchen and sorted out the bags in the front garden that had the tomatoes in them.

The postman brought my London - Floris - London tee shirt!

He also brought a thumb brace I ordered on Sunday - not so useful though now my thumb is healing but already I can feel the benefit.

When storm Floris hit the Port, 60mph winds blew clouds of salty seawater over the village. The leaves of the trees were covered with salt and an early autumn arrived. The leaves turned brown and fell off. Our newly planted apple, plum, damson, hawthorn and rowan trees suffered too. Even this late in the summer they are all growing new leaves and, as a late gift to the pollinators, the damson has decided to produce blossom again! What effect this will have in the spring? #stormfloris

The two HowgateWonder #apples I picked before #StormFloris to protect the young tree from wind damage have been turned into apple sauce cookies - all eaten as soon as they were cool enough. This season’s first #orchard baking!

The Marine Lake #WestKirby this morning. Post #StormFloris there is erosion of the external sandbank and the internal sand has formed a bar underwater.
