As everyone of the 7 fastest riders went through Brush Mountain Lodge, one also can see the bikes they're riding from their pictures. Looks like 3 of the 7 are riding flat bars (with aerobars obviously). Angus (3rd) and Felix (7th) on a hardtail. Laurens (2nd) on a full suspension.
I guess that means that you don't need drop bars for going this far. Assuming that you can make the position work. You probably also don't need gears, Felix can do without...

Currently gaining traction online, the visuals recreate what Belgian artist Lechanteur described as "one of [Gaudí's] most fascinating projects" to mark the centenary of the architect's death. But: 'We were given a shitty task which we new wouldn't work out. We did it anyway because we were too afraid of capitalism. We wasted lot's of company money learning NOTHING!'

Funny that a organization that's organizing "self supported" races has to use cloud services from Google to do business. 😥

What's also confusing about the huge amount of "former record" dots is that Meaghan Hackinen is way closer to Mike Hall's record ride than to her own existing grand depart record. And they are both shown as "MH" on Trackleaders. 🙃
The UK government's plan to teach 10 million British children how to use VPNs may be one of the most ambitious IT education projects ever launched. Experts have praised the scheme, saying that a deft combination of incentives and peer education make it more likely to succeed than other, comparable initiatives.
"With the rise of autocratic governments worldwide, VPN-literacy is more essential than ever.” said one expert, “This bold project definitely comes at the right time.”
