Delighted to announce that I'll be doing 3 short presentations as part of 'All About That Place' later this month - on my #KinEdar #OnePlaceStudy; #HouseHistory sources for Northern Ireland; and what the Irish Census can tell us about buildings. #OnePlace #AllAboutThatPlace #Genealogy #FamilyHistory
@SocOnePlaceStudies Not sure how much I would pay for a genuine historical postcard of #KinEdar. Probably more than I should admit... #OnePlaceWednesday
Today I've been creating and connecting #Wikitree profiles for the #July2023ConnectAThon (Go Irish team name that I can't remember how to spell!), and written a #KinEdar #OnePlaceStudies blog post about the next steps when a new find contradicts what you *thought* you knew https://kinedar.wordpress.com/2023/07/14/mcildowies-oldest-sons-an-unexpected-puzzle/. Now sitting with my feet up, having a cup of tea and comtemplating a bit of cake, while it rains heavily.
The McIldowie’s oldest sons – an unexpected puzzle

What do you do when a newspaper find challenges what (you think) you know about a family tree?

Kin Edar
Trying to trace one of my #KinEdar #OnePlaceStudies people who vanishes from the records. The last place I can locate her is helping out at the local church sale of work in 1899, which just makes me even more suspicious about the sort of things that go on at those *narrows eyes*.

If anyone fancies playing #OnePlaceStudies Monopoly this #OnePlaceWednesday, I've just discovered that one of my #KinEdar people won £5 as a runner-up in a Daily Mirror beauty contest in 1919.

23-year-old Chattie (or Charlotte) McIldowie would be better known later as actress Moyna MacGill, and was the mother of #AngelaLansbury.
