Good luck today Minnesota.
We are with you 💚
Friday is typically shopping day.
This week I'll be respecting the Minnesota call for a Jan 23 economic blackout even though I live in Illinois.
Gonna use the time to double down on calling/writing reps & demanding they grow spines.
Inevitably, someone out there on the internet will shame people who don't go protesting anywhere in person. For being passive. But I don't fight injutice to perform for them. I do the right things I can do, even if they're not THE right things.

January 23
No work, school, or shopping.
MINNEAPOLIS LABOR UNION DELEGATION AND LOCAL REGIONAL LABOR
BODIES ENDORSE JANUARY 23: DAY OF TRUTH AND FREEDOM
NO WORK, SCHOOL, OR SHOPPING
MINNEAPOLIS – The Minneapolis Regional Labor Federation, AFL-CIO along with
regional bodies throughout the state, including the Saint Paul Regional Labor
Federation, the West Area Labor Council, the North East Area Labor Council and the
East Central Labor Council, have joined in solidarity to endorse a powerful unified
statewide action on January 23: Day of Truth and Freedom. The Minnesota labor
movement is united against the violent ICE occupation of our beloved cities that has
directly impacted union members, our workplaces and our families.
Workers are essential for our communities to function. Since the ICE campaign of terror
began, both immigrant and non-immigrant workers have feared for their safety when
going to work, being at work, and coming home from work. Union members and our
families are being illegally detained at alarming rates, with workplaces and schools
facing increased challenges.

Hey there!
Are you also in america right now? Does it all seem pretty bleak?
Well I have good news, there is a general strike against ICE occupation planned in Minnesota this Friday and you can help wherever you are by joining in solidarity.
No work. No school. No commerce.

Can't risk taking off work? No worries, maybe you can spread the word to someone who can.
If you can withhold your labor on Friday, consider gathering with other people in your community and participating in some mutual aid.
I live in MA, but I side with the people of MN and everyone who is against the fascist occupation and clampdown in MN and other states.
I'm joining the general strike Friday Jan 23rd 2026
No work. No school. No commerce.
I have the privilege and ability to do so, so I'm standing with MN labor unions and residents. If you're not able to, do not feel guilty, but perhaps encourage someone who can to stand in your stead.

This article is a joint publication of Workday Magazine and In These Times. Unions and community groups gathered in front of the Hennepin County Government Center in downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota this morning to announce a day of “no work, no school, no shopping” on January 23 to oppose the ferocious assault on the state by […]
