switching from #iTerm to #ghostty - night and day difference in latency. iTerm has become too bloated. Or I am doing it wrong. In any case, I don't think I am going back.
Config is a bit of a hassle (env text file) but there is not too much to configure. I had to set copy-on-select = clipboard (what it says) and shell-integration-features = ssh-env to be able to run tmux on remote servers but that's it.

#iTerm sure dives into feature creep, although to give it justice, new major features are optional, require enablement and often additional installation steps.
Recently it was integration with GenAI, in times where many apps integrated with ChatGPT API (by default or exclusively due to brand popularity) it did follow the trend. It sparked outrage by privacy advocates and thus turned entirely optional.
Now it's using embedded Web browsing so you don't have to leave your console window. It's quite comfortable when you don't have many screens. But perhaps the reason to implement that are comedy gold, citing the author: "A former colleague suggested this idea in 2014 and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it. - I am maybe having a midlife crisis and this is cheaper than a sports car." <-- and yes I can relate
