BRAWA: Kulturgut bewahren durch Helfermotivation und geringe Brandwahrscheinlichkeiten - BMBF-Sicherheitsforschung

Brände zerstören immer wieder wichtige Kulturgüter und gefährden nationales Kulturerbe, wie die Beispiele der Herzogin-Anna-Amalia Bibliothek in Weimar oder der Kathedrale Notre-Dame in Paris zeigen. Viele dieser Ereignisse sind auf sich langsam ausbreitende und schwer erkennbare Schwelbrände zurückzuführen. Das Projekt BRAWA erarbeitet neue Strategien und innovative Technologien, um die Brandsicherheit historischer Gebäude zu erhöhen. Dabei basiert das Konzept auf der Vernetzung von Sensoren, die bereits beim Auftreten bestimmter Gase in der Frühphase der Brandentstehung Alarm auslösen. Durch ein neuartiges Helferkonzept soll eine Brandfrüherkennung ermöglicht werden.
