Developers Ask for Mandatory Affordable Housing Fee Holiday as Permits for New Apartments Dry Up

I agree with the idea of reducing MHA fees to encourage the building of more general housing, which, IMO, will increase the overall number of available units and in turn push the housing cost down for us. OTOH, I've seen a counter argument that says the more number of units doesn't translate into more affordable rents. What's the basis of that argument?
