So I've been running #herbstluftwm for a while now and it's really configurable but since getting the urge to play with #bspwm I have to say that I prefer it so much more. Why ? Well for one under herbstluftwm your tags ( workspaces ) say 1 - 10 are on all monitors. Whereas in bspwm I can have separate tags of 1 - 10 on each monitor. I'm also not keen of the way herbstluftwm swaps tags between monitors kind of like qtile. I've not deleted my herbstluftwm config yet but I am continuing on with bspwm for sure.

Tinkering with #bspwm and I'm getting quite used to it and love the preselection aka manual tiling. Even managed to get picom setting the transparency for tbe preselection area. Still lot's more to explore here before I decide if I'll switch from #herbstluftwm but it's looking probable as i can have 1-10 individual or whatever workspaces on each monitor. #OpenBSD #RunBSD

Called out again tomorrow and it looks like a full days work. This has to be the worst on call week ever.
If I get home I might give #BSPWM a go to see how it fairs against #HerbstluftWM ??

So I've not powered up my trusty old ThinkPad P14S Gen 1 that has #FreeBSD and #MangoWC under #Wayland for a while. I've been pottering away quite happily with #OpenBSD and #HerbstluftWM and honestly I have everything I need on this Dell Optiplex 3080 i5-10505 . Do I need to say sorry to Beastie ??

Starting my keyboard-(almost-)only, tilingWM journey some years ago with Herbstluftwm over i3/sway, it has now been tweaked near to perfection with NIRI. Everything's extremely fast and responsive, check out this screencast!

As with Sway, I can handle KeepassXC-CLI shortcut integration with no plugins needed.
Pass has been a solid choice, too.
Qutebrowser is not the only one in town to handle vim-like keybinding (but a good one 😉).
And yeah, dystopian Fallout retro is the stylish way to go the KISS way 😍

Work at the moment is quite full on so it's nice to come home and chill. By that I mean sitting tweaking my #HerbstluftWM and #OpenBSD desktop setup.

Still running #OpenBSD and getting #HerbstluftWM just the way I like it. Loving that it's frame based and so configurable. Mind it is still a WIP so I have not made a new git repo for my OpenBSD dot files as yet. #RunBSD

OMG #HerbstluftWM why have I never delved into you properly before !? This is my new favorite tiling window manager. Oh and yes I'm giving #OpenBSD a fair go and I'm actually loving it.

Done. I have replaced Devuan with #Debian #Trixie and #runit. Xorg with #herbstluftwm was a bit tricky, but now everything is working.
