Uff. Considering going to #Harstad fo a conference in february. From #Oslo.
Problem: I won't fly.
Everything #Vy and #Entur spits out is by night train to Trondheim, but from there on it's a nightmare. Buss for train on parts of the route, mostly bus anyway, I have to change four or five times and the highlight: being stuck for nine hours at Lødingen buss taxi stand over night in midwinter.
#Hurtigruten could be an alternative, but it's way too expensive.

Here's my idea for a winter trip (starting from Warsaw in Poland) to see northern lights, but without flying:
The last step is optional and could be changed to any other city nearby, but I found it to be a good compromise between tourism opportunities and distance from Narvik.
Anyone got any experience to share? Dos and don'ts? Comments?
