These were the last two photos I took with my Panasonic SDR-H85 camcorder. I was really bummed out as it broke at the start of my trip and I still have no clue what caused it to die. Still pretty sad about it. Does anyone have an Idea what might've caused it to die? I'm pretty certain the blurry picture was taken whilst it was dying and the other picture was after I couldn't see anything on my screen anymore. The Completely black picture was taken the same day to try and see if, after exporting media, it still worked. Clearly not as there is nothing on there

More Info on how it died:
I was taking photos but suddenly my screen started losing colour and fading away. For a while it still started up but nothing was visible on the display and after a couple of days it didn't want to turn on anymore.

A boost would be appreciated if it can help my post appear in communities which might know the answer.

Aw bollocks! I found a Thunderbolt 2 to FireWire adapter very very cheap, so got the matching cable and the Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt 2 cable. Everything connected, the Mac recognises the FireWire interface, so far so good.

Sadly, the old JVC Mini DV Camera we used back in the day doesn't function properly anymore. I knew the FireWire interface was probably botched as I couldn't get it to work under Windows. But on top of that the thing is blind.

Finally got around to making a custom cable for my Sony HandyCam DCR-TRV730E (2001) to connect to the DigitNow video recorder. It’s now 100% tapeless and works great, very pleased.

I’ve also included my pin outs for anyone interested.

Found a Blaupunkt CCR 890 H camcorder while thrifting for a camera bag; it has seen better days, but the broken Wide zoom button was still in the bag, as well as the remote, charger + mains adapter, a battery (dead, sadly), and composite cables.

Nothing else appears to be broken, and I have some unused Video-8 tapes I can put in it to test if it still records.
