Afraid of #Cycling Next to Cars? A New #Handlebar Sensor Could Help Map Safer #BikeRoutes
https://nicenews.com/innovation/handlebar-sensor-map-safer-cycling-routes/
There is a new handlebar for our favourite folding bike (Brompton) by our favourite component manufacturer (Nitto). 😍 I guess I have to research how to buy this in Germany.

continues on that topic with the SQlab Inner Bar ends and further musings.
Still not the real deal for me by a long shot. Thus my thinking on some inner bar ends I can rest my palms upon just like on those Red AXS hoods or similar (on flat bars).

In continuing the topic from my 3rd to last post where I showed you normal outer bar ends from Dongker, but mounted inwards I now show you the @sqlab SQlab Innerbarends 411 2.0. These are an improvement on the previous version 1.0 and modelled after their 411 R Carbon ones. Most notably they are „hollow“, i.e. just a sort of half pipe instead of a complete tube or massive part. Which not only makes them lighter but actually also more versatile to grip. Also their shape got improved in my eyes. Compared to the former SQlab Innerbarends 410/402 I have since a few years the most important aspect is that the top rider facing edge isn’t as pronounced, as sharp and as far back reaching. Which is super important as this makes it so that you can actually rest your hands also with the palms or fingers enveloping the Inner Bar End instead of just having it as that „one trick pony“ where you really only are intended to wedge your thumb-to-indexfinger gap into and nothing else. Which is already nice but really doesn’t do much for me in terms of long duration ride comfort. And I stress it: this is not a position which resembles the hoods position on a drop bar. For this, the diameter of the Inner Bar End has to be wider and you not have to wedge thumb and indexfinger around it but really need to rest the complete or most parts of your actual palm on it. Which I can already do quite nicely with the previously shown Dongker Bar Ends (also one slide in here) and absolutely not with the former SQlab Innerbarends 410. These SQlab 411 2.0 lie in between. So maybe I can make them work? (cont'd in 1st comment) . . #grabmyproductideas #andmakeithappen #InnerBarEnds #enduranceriding #cycling #flatbar #mtbcockpits #SQlab #freeConsulting".
Funky! Look at those Brifters on those bars...
I first mistook it for a Cannondale Hardtail - thus my musing whether he's trying to stepwise transition to a drop bar. But it's actually a topstone... so he seems to have transitioned to a (curly) flat bar, but kept the Sram Red AXS brifters...
Dug myself into a hole; unsure whether to pick Ergon GP5 or get some kind of butterfly handlebar.
I believe some kind of ergon might just be a good idea to have some nice cushion. But also enjoy the idea of the butterfly handlebar cockpit and ability for further attachments.
I could go for both... But I think just trying to reflect on what I exactly need might be good :)
There should be a place (online) with datasheets for all the bicycle handlebars! It seems like something so trivial, but somehow it's quite hard to find the specs of even the common ones...
A bit of an upgrade for my Moloko bar to
1) make horns longer (for “aero” position)
2) make the ends sturdier (so that bar tape not damaged when they touch the ground b/c of maintenace/crash)
Couldn't find anything fitting for bicycles; these are motorcycle bar ends made by Sato Racing.
~36mm of extra length.
