Another view from the same riverside spot on the Geeste: a lone mooring post in the foreground, topped with an old metal fitting, standing like a quiet marker in the still water. The bare trees reflect on the surface, turning the whole scene into a calm black-and-white mirror. // #Bremerhaven #Lehe #Geeste #RiverGeeste #UrbanNature #Reflection #BlackAndWhitePhotography #MinimalMood #QuietPlaces #Riverside #NaturePhotography #NorthernGermany #Germany #MoodyLandscape #Pixelfed
Taken at the same spot as the previous photo of the Kistner ruins — just a few steps away and everything turns quiet: still water, winter trees, and a near-perfect reflection on the River Geeste. Industrial past and calm nature side by side in Bremerhaven. // #Bremerhaven #Lehe #Geeste #KistnerSite #IndustrialHeritage #UrbanNature #Reflection #Riverside #WinterMood #NaturePhotography #LandscapePhotography #NorthernGermany #Germany #CalmWaters #Pixelfed
Remains of the former Kalksandsteinwerk H. F. Kistner in Bremerhaven — a quiet industrial landmark on the River Geeste, now framed by new housing.

From the Alte Geestebrücke, looking along the River Geeste towards Wencke Dock and the Hochschule Bremerhaven area — where shipyard history and everyday city life meet. There’s a calm, river-mouth harbour atmosphere here, especially along the promenade near the Historical Museum. //

A black-headed gull (Lachmöwe) claiming its favourite perch outside Historisches Museum Bremerhaven on the Geeste waterfront. Like many urban coastal gulls, it’s equal parts lookout and opportunist — always scanning for the next tide (or snack). // #BlackHeadedGull #ChroicocephalusRidibundus #Lachmoewe #UrbanWildlife #CoastalBirds #BirdPhotography #WildlifePhotography #Bremerhaven #Geeste #HistorischesMuseumBremerhaven #NorthSea #Germany #StreetNature #BirdsOfPixelfed
Taken from the promenade by the Historical Museum of Bremerhaven: a view across the mouth of the River Geeste toward Wencke Dock and Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences. Calm water, open sky, and that unmistakable harbor feeling — right where the river meets the sea. // #Bremerhaven #Geeste #RiverMouth #WenckeDock #HochschuleBremerhaven #HarborView #Maritime #Waterfront #BlackAndWhitePhotography #Cityscape #NorthernGermany #Germany #UrbanPhotography #CoastalCity #Pixelfed
View from the old iron bridge in Bremerhaven’s Kapitänsviertel across the River Geeste — calm water, reed beds along the banks, and a glimpse of the allotment gardens in the background. A quiet corner of the city where urban life meets nature. // #Bremerhaven #Kapitänsviertel #Geeste #OldIronBridge #AllotmentGardens #Kleingarten #NorthernGermany #UrbanNature #Riverside #WaterView #CityWalk #UrbanPhotography #NaturePhotography #Pixelfed
The Rickmers Yard crane on the River Geeste in Bremerhaven-Lehe — a striking relic of the city’s shipbuilding era. This full-portal tower slewing crane (Vollportal-Turmdrehkran) was installed in 1956 by Hans Seebeck Maschinenbau-Eisenbau GmbH (Bremerhaven-Lehe) and stands 35.5 m tall. Depending on outreach, it could lift up to 20 tonnes (or 7.5 tonnes at maximum outreach). After the Rickmers shipyard closed in 1986, the crane remained as an industrial monument and was refurbished in 2003 — today it’s officially protected as a heritage site. // #Bremerhaven #Lehe #Geeste #RickmersWerft #RickmersCrane #Shipyard #Shipbuilding #IndustrialHeritage #MaritimeHistory #HistoricMachinery #UrbanHistory #BlackAndWhitePhotography #NorthernGermany #Germany #Pixelfed

Am vergangenen Samstag lag Nebel über dem #Emsland.

Der getrübte Blick entrückt ohne Trübsal. Eine Ahnung vom alten Moor breitet sich aus.
