@archivescribe @DaveMasonDotMe There's the #FLX1s from @furilabs

Also, upcoming projects from @mechasystems, @dawndrums and @Liberux

Of course, there's the #LibertyPhone / #Librem5 from @purism for true #gnuLinux... which I heard is receiving a new modem upgrade this year. That's what I'm currently daily driving with #postmarketOS.

Speaking of, I really wonder what's the present situation with #libcamera in #waydroid and how did #furios / #furiphone get camera to work in android apps

You install "Aurora Store" from "F-Droid". It lets you install non-open-source Android apps. Ones that you cannot live without and cannot "get" any other way.

Again, yes, the FLX1s can also run (many) Android apps.

This is where you would look last, if you cannot find what you want in "Software" or "F-Droid".

"F-Droid" also comes pre-installed. F-Droid lets you install open-source Android apps.

Yes, the FLX1s can also run (many) Android apps.

You would install Android apps if you cannot find a native version or alternative in "Software".

This is where you would look second, if you cannot find what you want in "Software".

"Software" comes pre-installed. It lets you install native Linux apps.

This is where you would look first for any app, or app type, that you want or need.

Somewhat recently I switched to using the FLX1s Linux phone (from an Android phone).

The FLX1s is a privacy oriented phone, that is an open platform, built on open-source software, where I am in control of it.

One thing that I find makes using it better is — having these 3 app stores installed:

• Software
• F-Droid
• Aurora Store

I switched my phone somewhat recently — from an Android phone to a FLX1s Linux Phone.

I am an early adopter — so there are some rough areas, but —

I am largely happy with the phone.
Especially given that it is a privacy oriented phone, that is an open platform, built on open-source software, where I am in control of it.

One nice thing though — for the apps where there is no Linux alternative, you can run (some) Android apps on it.

I visited the FuriLabs booth at FOSDEM 2026.

...

I showed them my FuriLabs FLX1s phone 🙂

...

I actually caused an issue with my FLX1s. @fakeshell on the @furilabs team fixed it!

Thank you @fakeshell !!

Awesome!

Loops may be available for and usable on the FLX1s Linux phone soon.

(The FLX1s is a non-Android (Linux) phone that can run some Android apps.)

I wanted to connect a keyboard to my FLX1s Linux phone.

I first tried connecting a USB keyboard to it — but, I couldn't get it to work.

Others on the Furilabs Matrix / Telegram room suggested using a Bluetooth keyboard.

So, I purchased an inexpensive (CAD $13) Bluetooth key, and — it worked! 🙂
