Their blog post in 2024 about 4G and 5G were found to be false, as even today 5G still doesn't work properly in the USA on T-Mobile, on their FLX1 like they claimed it completely did. They also are now closing the source code to Andromeda, their Android compatibility layer...

@privacyguides I think #LinuxMobile is the only real path forward for freedom.

Instead of hoping in #Google, it would be better in the long run if concerned users rallied behind #Linux options (mainline or #Halium-based), and there are quite a few now, existing and upcoming.

Ein Paar Korrekturen zu meinem @datenspuren talk zu #linuxmobile:
- neben #postmarketos ist auch #mobian komplett frei und läuft auf einem mainline Linux kernel. Droidian ist zwar verwandt mit Mobian, ist wiederum aber #halium basiert
- libhybris ist ein Kompatibilitätslayer um Android Applikationen (z. B. Treiber) auf einem Linux laufen zu lassen (meinte ich so, habs aber versehentlich andersrum gesagt)
- die Mail app auf einer der Folien war
natürlich #geary und nicht #evolution

So I've been thinking about porting either #lineageos or #ubuntutouch on my #vivo y20 2021, however the issue is idk if the kernel i need to build #halium is the one that's mentioned on vivo's site, like y20 was released in 2020 but then re released in 2021 (the one i have)… it's currently running android 11, however the kernel available is for Android 13???

Is that really supposed to be for vivo y20 2021?? 🤧
