- It's Some cursed proprietary thing on an RJ-45 connector...

I'm about to get some of those and considering to setup a bounty to get these up and running...

There's like a crate of 9505 phones staring at me and all they miss are batteries, SIM cards, chargers and maybe some antennas.
- Batteries are easy to source; worst-case gotta wire up some DC/DC adaptor to make it think it always got 3,8V or something...

And no, neither Motorola nor Iridium feel the need to make documentation available!
