Three years ago, FuriLabs shipped its first Linux smartphone.
Last week we looked back. Four hardware products, 15 FuriOS releases, 450 changelog entries. And something new on the horizon for 2026.

Three years ago, a lunch in Sydney started everything.
Last week I was back at that same table. Final FLX1s units sold, major FuriOS issues resolved. Simultaneously.
@david_bardos Interesting article, and even more interesting website design!
One thing to note is that most people do not (and will not, ever) install an OS; they simply buy a device and Windows, macOS, Android, iOS come preinstalled. You could say they chose their OS by choosing the device.
In the same fashion, there are mobile Linux OSes, e.g. #PureOS and #FuriOS that just come preinstalled for users on devices: #Librem5, #LibertyPhone, #FLX1S+
I think it's this category of OSes that has the higher promise of adoption by normal non-technical folks.

Linux App Summit 2026 is a over (but you can watch talks if you missed it), FuriLabs launches the FLX1s+, an improved FLX1s promising better cameras, Phosh 0.55.0 is out, the Sovereign Tech Fund is investing over €1 million in KDE software development, and way more!
FLX1s+ is coming.
48MP camera. Improved LED flash. Zero compromises.
We sold out of FLX1s! Every unit is gone. The next batch ships as FLX1s+.
@etbe Hey @furilabs you might (or might not) want to boost : )

FuriOS 14.0.2 is out.
External display via FLH1, GNOME 50, Firefox 149, ZRAM boost, Batman rewritten in C, Android layer improvements, and a stack of modem/carrier fixes.
Your Linux phone just got a serious upgrade.

@opensourceopenmind @davepolaschek @furilabs
I can't make it work with with FLX1 (not FLX1s). And I believe the issue is @FuriLabs choosing HDMI (Proprietary) over DisplayPort (Open Source). HDMI is NOT backwards compatible. FuriLabs don't provide info on the version of the HDMI port (I think it is 2.1). My monitor has two 2.0 version ports, which make it incompatible. I've tried different cables. Make sure your monitor can support this hub before purchasing.
