I see lots of fedizens posting helpful #feditips for newbies.

I've just emigrated to a new community here which looks like a nice fit for me. But rather than importing all my following/ers over decided to make a fresh start (kinda).

I followed a few of the most valuable posters here, but the thing I would recommend more than anything if you are coming from twatter - #FollowHashtags & use them mindfully. Even if you follow only a handful of accounts, you'll have lots of good stuff on Home feed.

My advice for new arrivals, because it seems to me a significant number of those who don't like it here are unaware of this:

#FollowHASHTAGS!

That's the thing about Mastodon.
You follow hashtags the same as you follow people. And that's how you get introduced to new people/things.

It's NOT about having huge numbers of followers. It's about connecting people.

Quoting doesn't work here, so don't miss it - that's just kind of stealing -> #boost or comment!
