@mlanger tags.pub is not AI. It's very standard software -- it takes content from one place and boosts it further.
@mlanger it does use server resources on the sending end (you get notified of the share) and the receiving end (the boosts get sent to subscribers). It is not significantly different than a manual boost, though.
@evan But it’s a guaranteed boost so every single toot with a hashtag gets boosted at least once for every hashtag. That HAS to increase the number of boosts and, hence, the traffic.
And I’m sure you’ve seen real hashtag abusers? (Not just people like me who are doing it lately to be a bitch.) People who put 10 or more hashtags in their toots to spam the Fediverse? I can’t see this being a positive thing.
@evan Nope. I’d rather be a bitch and see how long this lasts. Likely someone there will block me first if it causes problems.
