Richard Bernard, Puritan, on the governor, Nehemiah, who refused pay (chapter 5) when his people suffered in bondage. Great persons excelling in stature & wealth should be “melting” before the deserve to be called great. Bernard laments that he lives a frozen, cruel and an iron age.

“Melting”. Isn’t this the very antithesis of modern theology?

That’s almost twice the population of #Asheville, and more than half that of #BuncombeCounty. In a month.
