Linux Easy
I just recently started using fwupd. It is really useful to update firmware and BIOS in most of the machines that I work with.

Fwupd 2.1.3 Adds New Hardware Support

Fwupd 2.1.3 Linux firmware updater adds Redfish authentication, SHIFTphone hardware support, XMC SPI chip support, and more.

I've just tagged a new #fwupd release: https://github.com/fwupd/fwupd/releases/tag/2.1.3

There's nothing amazing here, but a few highlights are the progress bar is now buttery-smooth (moving from integer percentage to double precision) and that you now don't need to load all the crypto libs if you're just using libfwupd in your app.

There are a couple of regressions fixed too, so be sure to upgrade when your distro provides the update.

I'm at #PremDay at Paris and just walked past two people in the hallway I've never met in my life talking excitedly about #LVFS and #fwupd. I know it's an unusual niche open source project but it was a super proud moment for me.

Open source maintenance is 99% fixing bugs and little things like this make it all worthwhile. Thanks those 2 random people!
