Exelon couldn't find a single Maryland lawmaker to introduce their bill letting BGE build power plants and charge ratepayers for everything, even if the plants are never built.

Then Sen. Kevin Harris, in office 60 days, filed it at the last minute as the lone sponsor. His quote: "Who knows whether this is the right one."

Exelon Found Their Guy. He's Been a Senator for 60 Days

Exelon spent $925,000 lobbying Annapolis and couldn't find a single senator to introduce its bill letting BGE build power plants on ratepayers' dime. Then Kevin Harris, in office for 60 days, volunteered as the lone sponsor at the last possible minute.

BGE customers are seeing bills double this winter. BGE blames cold weather.
The real story: delivery rates have tripled since Exelon acquired BGE in 2012. Profits went from $147M to $527M. Hazardous leaks increased. The PSC chair just resigned with no explanation.

Amazon's nuclear agreement

"Co-locating data centers next to nuclear plants already faces controversy.

"In March, Amazon Web Services [#AWS] bought a data center powered by the 41-year-old #SusquehannaNuclear plant in #Pennsylvania from #TalenEnergy for $650 million.
