Didn't accomplish much today he says, despite having made a batch of breakfast sandwiches, done the laundry, seen the chiropractor switched out the dishwasher, put said laundry away and cleaned up his desk.

Yesterday was more interesting, did a bit of wandering in IL to see where I want to move to. I would like to move closer to my family in the Lancaster PA area, but its just too expensive over there. Well, not so much if'n I buy a mobile home, but I'm not a fan of those. Plus while I didn't hate it there when visiting, weren't nothing out there that really grabbed me.

So, we started in Sorento, and… Farm town on its last legs, has a block or three of downtown left, but not much there, in fact the last building on the way out of town was the Sorento Food Pantry. I think that says everything about that town.
Next up was Panama, in some ways a smaller town, no downtown of any sort, though it did have a post office, however no gas station nor grocery store, not even a dollar store unless I went through the wrong end of town. I like it, but seriously, where do you get anything if you live there?
From there I wandered out moving back west, and stumbled into Walshville… Remember what I said about Sorento? Yeah, this was worse, amazingly enough, looks like there never really was much to the town, and even less now.
Then to Litchfield, a planned stop since I finally stopped and got TomTom set up to direct me. Gotta say I like Litchfield, it doesn't have a downtown, but it does have basically everything you might need from groceries (Aldi), WalMart, Huddle House, Dollar General, Goodwill, and even a drive in theatre! It looks like the town was always a road stop, its on Route 66, and the west side of town is I55. I wandered around town a bit along IL16, and I like it, affordable, pretty much everything I need, I didn't see a local grocery store, I typically shop mostly at Aldi with Schnucks filling in a few things here, so that's a minor issue, I mean WalMart could do the same job, I'd just rather not give them the business… Well, that kind of business.
And from there, last stop of the tour, Staunton. I like it, small town, actual downtown which is currently getting new sidewalks and curbs, age is showing, but nice town. Lacking in amenities, but a short drive from Litchfield, so not really a big deal. Looks like things are a bit expensive there unfortunately, but not insanely so, so…

I'll do another tour, east along I70 at some point, not sure when though, 25 April is the next flea market at Sunset Hills Community Center, and I'm vending there, which means taking two days off from work, so I'll prolly want to wait a bit after before I go wandering again as fast charging is expensive.
