Many #edibuddies have created and posted AI policies, and I suppose it's past time to do the same.

I included this in a LinkedIn post today:

"I do not use generative AI when I edit. I'm here to help you strengthen your voice, and AI has no role in that beautifully human process."

I think that's a decent start. I also need a written policy about editing AI-generated text. I work with human authors, not LLMs. I do need to acknowledge nuance involving "AI-assisted" text, though.

What's helping you #survive #emotionally amid daily awfulness in the world?

For me, it's #hugs, #jokes from #family members, Zoom meetings with fellow #editorial #pros (I see you, Editorial Freelancers Association), online communication with #edibuddies, #tea, #classical #music, & enough #sleep at night.

Things I forget when I'm in the middle of an editing project or have increased my offline human interaction (or both):

• I greatly enjoy interacting with #edibuddies and the #WritingCommunity on social media.

• I love sharing grammar tips.

• Last I knew, some of my mutuals were in the middle of interesting-sounding WIPs, and I want to know how those are going.
