out of steam for this project this morning but also somewhat determined to keep it going. Instead of explaining why each one of these is awesome to me I'll just explain that today is Saturday in my work week, the first day of my weekend, and I didn't do anything all morning, just laid on the couch, decompressing. alone time is like food. we need it. but that doesn't mean we always enjoy it. and it's definitely possible to have way too much.
but what a privilege it is, to be able to choose for oneself whether or not to be alone! every minute outside of prison should remind us of how that minute passes for those inside. but it's true outside too.
if you are lonely, i guarantee there's someone else very close who is too. when you're depressed it's easy to crawl in instead of reaching out. but you have to overcome that habit.
careful shacking up with someone as wounded and isolated as you. i'm not saying it never works out, just that a person frustrated in life who looks at you and sees a mirror reflecting what they'd rather not see, can become an enemy fast. i have lived this.
