TIL there is no real #Xnest for #Wayland. Depending on your compositor, you can just run nest one inside another! Makes for some entertaining #distrobox experimentation.

#TIL that whereas ​​ ​​ #KDELinux has #fastfetch pre-installed as part of its core image, ​​ #Fedora #Kinoite does not. methinks that before i bother layering it, i'll see if installing it via a #Distrobox container works.

geez i am really hanging out for the kdelinux Beta, in hope that by then they've solved the current manual partitioning bug, at which time i shall install it as another boot option in my main pooter.

I've uninstalled #Lutris and replaced it with #Heroic. What sucks though is that unlike Lutris and #Steam, Heroic doesn't bundle runtimes for older #Linux games, so now I have to run the Windows versions of those games through #Wine #Proton. And maybe it's just me, but running the Windows version of anything when there's already a Linux version irks me.

I tried using #Distrobox containers to run those games, but I must be doing something wrong 'cause that didn't work at all.

I've known #distrobox for quite a while and used it casually go get things on my system and liked it a lot.
Well since I started doing #development in my free time I came to rely on this tool a lot! It gives me such freedom and ease of mind, I love it!
Previously I would install #ArchLinux to get the newest dependencies & goodies. After a while I either mess things up or I switch stack, tech or something else, so I used to wipe all & install from scratch for the next "project".
Now I just use #debian as a host and get all the sdk's, ide's and all stuff related in an arch container. Then export what I need.

Estava dando uma olhada no #Nitrux. Não instalei (nem tenho máquina adequada para isso no momento), mas fiquei bastante curioso para brincar com ela.

É mais uma distribuição #Linux imutável em XFS, orientada em torno de AppBoxes (um formato autocontido e em caixa de areia, com um repositório derivado da biblioteca de pacotes do #Debian) e de contêineres rootless (daqueles que hoje podemos subir em minutos com o #Podman nos bastidores, usando o #Distrobox e o #Boxbuddy).

Ela adota o #OpenRC como init system. Conta ainda com um utilitário de linha de comando pensado para virtualização com passagem de GPU. É o tipo de sistema para instalar num desktop tradicional ou mini-PC docável, no qual há o desejo de rodar o #Windows em conjunto com o Linux.
