@retropolis #DirectoryOpus was better! 😎

Out of all the Amiga tools out there, for me, the most useful of them all, is - without a doubt - DirectoryOpus v4.16. I would not survive without it!

I am checking out a few Amiga disk images and I gotta admit: This one had me confused for a bit.

As shown in the attached screenshot of DirectoryOpus, I had found a savegame with a file date "older" than the game it originated from. At first, I thought this to be very unusual. Then I remembered: Back in the day, Amigas did not usually have a real-time clock with a battery backup, so every time you booted up the system, the clock would be reset to a fixed date and time!

I'm feeling kinda stupid right now.

BTW, Directory Opus have an account on Bluesky. They don't seem to have a Mastodon/fedi account linked on their site, but eh. Bluesky is good enough for me. :3

Giving Directory Opus a go on my Windows install. I used Directory Opus years ago when I was at university (yes I'm aware it was an Amiga tool as well) but I wasn't really worried about that until recently.

I don't wanna lose the split view I was using from KDE's Dolphin and from first impressions, this does the job and then some.

@kaybee335 I think, i've figured it out - with a little help from (incogni-)Copilot - 👀 see truncated result, screenshot. DuckDuckGo showed me a bunch of example screenshots.

I'm mildly sorry, for mistaking #DirectoryOpus for some kind of "colourful metaphor", instead of looking it up, verbatim. 😅

Yeah, that might be "cumbersome" to replicate.

In Gnome Files, i'll miss the bulk-rename feature - what i'm NOT gonna miss, is the touch-input-1st-like feeling, the random un-highlighting of files…
