I convinced a buddy to /also/ play Sim City 4* and he confirmed my suspicions: the game is just wildly pro-car. It doesn't matter what public transportation you install, no matter how carefully or realistically you install it, they just don't use it.

So now I'm in a text thread that's just about shockingly low ridership on pretend buses, trains, and ferries and I am feeling vindicated after wondering if my Sims were clinically dumb.

Was ich an SimCity 2000 besonders schätze: Praktisch jede beliebige, billige SC2K CD-ROM für Windows enthält nebenbei auch eine komplette Fassung der DOS-Version mit allen Erweiterungen und Szenarien. Bei vielen anderen Spielen muss man die erst mühsam suchen.

Das Ganze läuft hier bei mir gerade einwandfrei in 86Box, PC-DOS 2000 und dem frisch installierten TEAC CD-ROM Treiber.

I just uploaded a complete disk set of "SimCity 2000 for Macintosh" to the Internet Archive. This game is from 1993. This one is really special, because I could finally include the untouched "Scenarios" disk, which I had never seen before.

I included complete KryoFlux streams, 300dpi scans, as well as 1440K / 800K Macintosh disk images. Have fun! 😃

Na, da soll doch nochmal einer sagen, es würde sich nicht auch mal lohnen, Disketten zu putzen! Ich hatte diesen speziellen Datenträger im Grunde schon aufgegeben, aber nach der vorsichtigen Reinigung mit einem weichen, feuchten Tuch ließ sich anschließend alles wieder sauber auslesen. SimCity 2000 für den klassichen Macintosh. Hurrrahhh! 😃
