@mdmrn I remember way back we did bring some of that into how infravision worked but it gradually just became "see in the dark".

Your question has me thinking of reviving that in my current #DarkSun campaign when I bring them into Tyr's underground.

happy to report that after being missing in plain sight for 30 years, i have found the Dark Sun Online: Crimson Sands beta client :)

if you're unfamiliar with DSO: it was a very early 2D MMORPG built on top of the AD&D isometric engine games like Dark Sun 1 & 2, Al-Qadim, etc. it went into beta around the same time as UO and Furcadia, and was super popular despite being riddled with bugs and rampant cheating from people hacking the client with hex editors.

i have a bunch of work to do to verify the file integrity (looks like disk 2 has a crc error) and try to fix what i can, but a step in the right direction 😎

@HunterZ @greg

update: yep, got it all extracted and it appears to be the DSO beta client from the spring of 96.

Theology, Religion, and Dungeons & Dragons - Explorations of the Sacred through Fantasy Worlds

I know this is a heretical #DarkSun thought, but I actually kinda like the thought of a reboot. Looking through its scattered lore, someone wrangling it all into sanity might help.

EN World D&D & Tabletop RPG News & Reviews
#DarkSun but with a "Western" theme...

I was in a grumpy mood about video games, so I spent some quality time with a #ttprg, finally reading #Daggerheart and I was quite impressed with it.

Lots of interesting potential and they did a remarkable job of harnessing a great anime/video game vibe/homage in many of the campaign frames. Kinda reminds me of the energy & possibility of early the d20 boom.

Can’t shake the feeling many classic settings would be perfect frames: #Earthdawn #Dragonmech #ArcanaEvolved #DarkSun #Planescape
