Shoutout to Cynthia Gómez for these wonderful words about T. K. Rex's THE WILDCRAFT DRONES. "These stories challenge us by showing us the logical conclusion of late-stage capitalism – spiraling natural disasters, a mushrooming police state – but they also show the endless promise of resistance and hope."

My current read: "Alles staat op het spel" [Everything is at stake] by Jelle de Graaf, who in the Netherlands is probably most famous for gluing himself to a table during a talkshow to draw attention to the climate crisis. I'm about a third way through and while it is an easy read (short book with short chapters and doesn't go too indepth) it is probably the most depressing climate book I have read in Dutch. But also the most realistic one.

A lot of the climate books I've read in Dutch tend to paint a too positive picture. They might explain the problem in the beginning, but they are quick to point out that there are lots of great solutions and there are people working on them worldwide. And sure, there are some people that do great things. But the majority of people in the West do nothing. They might acknowledge that the climate crisis sounds very bad, but they just continue with their life as usual.

De Graaf seems to present a very different brand of climate activism. And although I might not agree with everything he says, he did get me thinking about a few things, such as left-wing political parties not having a clear alternative to descructive capitalism. Still, I am curious to see if the books remains theoretical or if he will present some concrete actions that the reader can take.

Here is my latest book review of climate activism books.

I had been avoiding this one because its name made me too paranoid to google its name.
