Re #CastingOn some new #knitting; setup of the Cardinal #WingspanShawl.

I am restarting on the slightly modified wonderful Wingspan pattern by Kyle Vey: I did a cable cast on instead of a long tail (because preference) and added 4"/32sts to the linen stitch section in the middle between the "wings" to accommodate my wider shoulders. Otherwise these three setup rows are set with adorable daisy markers made by a friend before I start the 12 feather (6 on each side) section A.

The yarn is Blue Brick Dye Works Manitoulin Sparkle yarn (a beautiful mix of Cashmere, Merino, and silver stellina) and I have started with the very dark (almost black) purple gradiant yarn in colorway "Fig"... I will then splice in the tonal "Cardinal" yarn for the majority of the shawl putting the brownish/maroon bit of gradiant yarn at the end, hopefully incurring the effect of "Very Red Bird Wings from a Very Red Bird" in the final scarf/shawl hybrid.
