No.
Can I resist a pretty skein of sock yarn?
Of course not.
Those two went home with me when I visisted yarn shops the last few weeks. But the rainbow one is already on the needles and the other one will be next, so they don't really "enter" the stash.
More socks - #sockknitting is still going strong over here.
With this pair I'm really curious, how well they stand up to wear and wash as they are 100% Peruvian highland wool. It was advertised as sock yarn and the vendor told me that she uses it herself with no problems so I decided to give it a try.
The pattern is a simple texture: k3, p1 for 3 rounds, p all for one round. Heel and toe are my standard versions.
Recently, when thrifting, I found this lovely pair of socks. It’s obviously handmade. The tension is a bit looser than I like, but I just couldn’t let it linger there. I will be wearing them, if not in my boots at least to bed!

Sock No. 1 part deux. Early stages obviously. But I like the purple cuff.
Going to do Cat Bordhi’s sweet tomato heel on these too, because the OG first sock had a flap and gusset heel and after a quick inventory of my small hand knit sock collection, I’m realizing those just aren’t as comfortable for me.
Well, shitskatoon. I knit almost the entire sock, was partway through the toe and had already knit the cuff to the second sock (thanks to #CraftClub this morning) when I decided to replace the double points with circs so I could easily try it on.
It's too big. Sigh. The stitch count per inch is off! I thought my swatch was accurate but it wasn't. Am now frogging entire sock.
At least the second pair will totally rock now that I know what my gauge is. 🧦

The yarn looks and feels very nice, I really do hope it holds up to wear and washing on a regular basis.

I switched out heel and toe for my preferred variants and I made the stitch pattern one stitch wider so the purl stitch from the cuff did line up with the pattern.

I've knit a whole sock in a day before - I'm not sure I'll manage this time, but we will see ...
I'm using a new to me sock yarn blend, 80% wool, 20% linen. The linen is the white "fluff" sticking partially out.
