With a storm front coming through along with high tide I made my way to Botallack Mines, hoping for the perfect wave... 30 minutes of standing in furious winds and rain! It was actually easier walking UP the hill back to the car with the wind behind me than making my way down earlier fighting against the wind.

Ja is denn heut scho #FootpathFriday? // But it isn't #FootpathFriday yet! Oh well, I have more than enough photos of footpaths and #hiking #trails. Here's one from Cornwall, because it's #SeaWednesday too! These are some of the ruins of the #BotallackMine, the Crown #Mines engine houses, to be exact. The mines produced tin, copper, and arsenic until 1895.

Remembering my #Cornwall trip

This is taken in the west of Cornwall. A former submarine mine with tunnels extending under the sea in #Botallack. Since 2006, it has been part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Botallack yesterday photographed by my husband.

The Crowns Engine Houses are such an iconic Cornish landmark.

We visited one of my favourite places again today, the disused tin mines at #Botallack in #Cornwall
Just how anyone could work in such a precarious location is beyond me. Its such a beautiful place but I'd be terrified of going into those mines, it must have been a very dangerous way to earn a living.
I didn't see any #Choughs which was a shame as I've spotted them here before, they're still a reasonably rare sight. We certainly don't have any on the Isle of Wight.
