Depuis la chute du régime de Bachar Al-Assad, la Bulgarie oppose un refus à presque toutes les demandes d'asile émanant des exilé·es syrien·nes. Cette situation coince ces personnes dans un territoire qui ne leur offre aucune alternative d'accueil et rend impossible leur régularisation ailleurs en Europe.

Arrivés en Europe par la frontière turco-bulgare, les Syriens voient leurs demandes d'asile "systématiquement rejetées" en Bulgarie. Depuis la chute du régime de Bachar el-Assad, ce pays d'entrée dans l'UE oppose un refus à presque toutes les demandes d'asiles émanant de ces ressortissants.
