#Maryland's top election official balks at #Drumpf #DOJ demand for complete trove of sensitive personal voter information.
“This is a new era for the DOJ, it seems,” said a #Democrat member on the state's #BoardOFElections, adding that it is not policy to share “Marylanders’ personal information, the last four digits of #SocialSecurity, their date of birth, their home address, without any sort of rational explanation.”
State’s non-responsive response to broad over reach by "federal investigators" called ‘quite rude’ by another #GOP sycophant on State Board of #elections
PSA:
I see a bunch of people posting links to vote.org.
Did you know that using vote.org is not necessary?
Voting is managed by your state. Find where your state's board of elections resides and query them directly about your registration.
The site vote.org is not magic. Ultimately, the information they relay to you is what your state gives them.
I don't see any reason for you to fill a form on this site. You don't know what they are going to do with that information.
My board of elections is right here:
The State Board of Elections provides all eligible citizens of the State convenient access to voter registration; provides all registered voters accessible locations in which they may exercise their right to vote, to ensure uniformity of election practices; to promote fair and equitable elections; and to maintain registration records, campaign fund reports, and other election-related data accurately and in a form that is accessible to the public.
The District of Columbia Board of Elections (DCBOE) says that a threat actor who breached a web server operated by the DataNet Systems hosting provider in early October may have obtained access to the personal information of all registered voters.
