So far in the few days I have been using it the battery life and standby has been very impressive much better than my #fairphone5 however, holy crap is it bundled with so much #bloatware /1
There was also a crap load of shitty games pre installed I would say well over a dozen apps between those two. There was also a lot of #OEM #bloatware from #poco #xiaomi I used #canta from #fdroid and uninstalled an additional 37 apps between #Google and OEM bloatware. It needs #shizuku to be installed and that needs some #developer #options jiggery pokery to be done. But the end result is a phone that can handle all the #work stuff with excellent #batterylife /2

This extra #Bloatware and #GreenWashing can be disabled by going to Settings->System and disabling on-device AI. I’m not certain about phones or tablets.

The pattern is identical to the Anthropic Claude Desktop case I wrote about last month, but the scale is between two and three orders of magnitude larger. This article does the legal analysis and, for the first time, the environmental analysis. The numbers are not small.
