I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, but I have fallen in love with Fast_Sans and Fast_Serif on my #Kindle. It works like #BionicReading but is #opensource and available on #Github! Your books need to be converted or already in the KFX format (#Calibre has a plugin but you have to play with #Wine due to a dependency) to utilize custom fonts, but they have helped me crush a few books way faster than I ever have (un-diagnosed ADD here). Check out the fonts here:

@PsychoMiko
Interessant.

Fuck #BionicReading and their patent trolls. Small creators are using scientific knowledge to create useful little tools and these pricks are sending copyright infringement letters based on nothing but bullshit.

after looking into bionic reading I've found that there's not much consideration or research into whether it's beneficial to #adhd and #dyslexia havers. I've seen plenty of (probably neurotypical) people upset about the very idea of #bionicreading being helpful to anyone and calling it a grift.

But I think neurodivergent folks know best just how different people's reading needs can be. I've felt a noticable benefit using it.

(Very much not final, will be tweaking how the formatting works, along with giving the user options to customize it for their own needs, feedback is appreciated!!)

Attached: 1 image ok ok so just *hear me out* So theres this thing called Bionic Reading, its basically a way to make reading stuff not suck, especially for neurodivergent people, i've used it myself and it's amazing, but what if it was put into an IDE or something? - It might make skimming through code a lot easier - Programming is a lot more static that natural language, which could make bionic reading even better that it's regular use 🔗 open source implementation can be found here: https://github.com/Gumball12/text-vide 🔗 And the original (patented) bionic reading can be found here: https://bionic-reading.com/ #programming #neurodivergent #neurodivergency #adhd #dyslexia #dev #developer #a11y
